Wednesbury is part of the West Midland conurbation, is situated on the west side of Birminghamand is bounded and served by
the junction 9 of the M6 motorway.
The Probus Club of Wednesbury was founded in 1978and in addition it serves the
rrounding areas of Sandwell, Walsall, Dudley and Wolvohampton.
The purpose of the club is to provide a regular meeting
place for retired or semi-retired proffesional and buisness men of the surrounding locality who appreciate and value the opportunity
of increased social contact and the making of new and long lasting friendships with persons and families of similar intrests.
It is a non-political , non-sectarian and non-religeous.
The club is run by a commitee of elected members comprising

Monthly
meetings are held at St. Bartholemew's Church Hall, Church Hill, Wednesbury commencing at 10 a.m when social and buisness
mattersare discussed followed by a refreshment period and finally a talk is given by a guest speaker.
Each yearan extensive
and varied programme of social events is put forward for consideration of the members and their families. This includes the
organised coach holidays, full and short day coach outings, dances, evening meals and entertainment, Anniversarys and christmas
luncheons. The club also has a popular and well-organised bowls section for thoses members with an intrest and erhaps a flare
for the sport.
An annual general meeting is held in October each year, when all members of the committe come up for
re-election.If possible the Chairman is peplaced annualyso that any member that feels he could benifit the club i the position
can put his name forward for consideration and election. The secutary maintains a wathing breif on sick or absent members
and the widows of deceased members.
The club is run at minimum cost. The annual subscription at present 2005/2006
is £8. Social events are charged to cover costs.
We are very friendly and welcoming group and are always pleased to
recieve visitors and potential members. If you are intrested and would like to come along and and have a look at us the all
that is required is that you attend two of the monthly meetings as a visitor. Then, if still intrested make an application
for members.
